If I were to conduct a survey in the streets of Manila, a city in which most people profess to be Christians, asking “Are you ashamed of Christ?” none would dare say they are. However, now let me ask you — how comfortable are you with speaking about Jesus to people in your workplace? How comfortable are you with reading your Bible in a coffee shop or airplane? If public displays of your faith are something with which you are not comfortable, is it possible you are ashamed of Christ? Whenever my family and I would eat in a restaurant, whether it be casual or fine dining, we would pray together before meals. At times, we would even ask the server if he had any prayer requests. Public displays of faith are rare these days. With the ever-increasing evil around us, Christians ought to shine brighter and be a beacon of light, by being intentional in living out their faith. Jesus endured public humiliation for your sake and mine. May we be found faithful in unashamedly proclaiming Him until His return.
