The phrase “with power and great glory” in the verse here means the visible display of authority, power, honor, and majesty of our Lord. His glory will be revealed by the manner of His coming, by the presence of the host of angels, and by the wonders that will be displayed in the sky. That all the people of the earth shall mourn is the manifestation of Christ’s power and glory. Many will, in consequence of this manifestation of God, be led to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the King, Savior. and Redeemer of mankind. The Good Mews of the Gospel will still be good news until the end. Let’s pray and make efforts that Gospel poverty will be ended so that most people of the Earth will not have to mourn at His coming.
