Several years ago, I was rushed to one of the general hospitals in my country, Kenya. I was four months pregnant and having severe contractions. As I was wheeled to the emergency room, I heard someone say, “Call Dr. Alusiola.” The words that stuck with me throughout the entire ordeal were “Call the doctor.” Indeed, it is those who are unwell who have the greatest need of a physician. In the world we live in, there are many who are sick, not just physically, but spiritually. Anyone who is lost in sin is sick. Proverbially, Jesus signified He was the Great Physician. He is the one who took upon Himself the sins of mankind when He was crucified at Calvary. Through the shedding of His blood, there is now remission for sin. Jesus is concerned about the whole of mankind, but more so those who do not yet know Him and are living in sin. As believers, we should not look down upon or judge those who are living in sin, for it is these that Jesus Christ is seeking. We can partner with Jesus to bring them to the Kingdom by loving, praying, and sharing God’s Word with them so that one day, they will come to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
