Although the modern world is highly connected, we have more stress than in the past, which often causes us to shy away from holiness. If God has forgiven all our sins after we repent and confess before Jesus for all our wrongdoings, is it important to ask Him to create in us a clean heart? Yes! I always imagine creating a vacuum in my heart so God can give me a new one! We must allow God to speak to us through His Word and through our prayers to understand His plans. Of foremost importance is being obedient to His commands. God puts the Holy Spirit within us when we believe and put our full trust in the Lord. David, in his Psalms, also mentions that we not only must know and revere God, but we also have to love God. In verse 11 of Ps. 51, David prays, “Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.” Let us open our hearts for Jesus so He can create a new heart within us. May God continue to renew all of us.
