Many people consider a blessed life as a disciple of Jesus to be a comfortable life without problems. But if you and I want to follow Jesus, we must understand it is not we who set the conditions, but Jesus Himself. To take up our cross and follow Jesus requires a cost and a decision. Denying ourselves is a difficult task in this world that values above all else one’s capabilities and achievements. Pride in what we have achieved is at the door of our hearts to tempt us into a career of success according to the parameters of this world. For this reason, we need to make a firm decision to follow Christ under the conditions He sets for us. This is putting Jesus first. It was He who paid the price for our redemption, and allowed us to pass from death to life, and then to life with abundance — not of material goods that perish, but of an eternal abode in Heaven.

My time at Haggai gave me a vision for the importance of leaders committed to the Gospel.
