As a Christ follower, how do I filter through the standards of beauty being portrayed to me by society and social media? By understanding that human beings are made in the image of God. He has created us as a wonderful masterpiece. Psalm 139:14 is the exact filter we should use to look at ourselves and the fellow creations of God walking around us. Criticizing a person’s physical features is criticizing His work. Amy Carmichael prayed for God to change her brown eyes to blue since she stood out from the norm in the United Kingdom, but she fit perfectly in India, where God had called her to minister. Our bodies or features might have a purpose, which has been chosen by the Creator. God doesn’t make mistakes!
