I once heard an amusing testimony. Outreach ministers were sharing the Gospel with a mocking and pompous guy. Meanwhile, he asked them scornfully to move a mountain around. “Ok, let us kneel down and pray, so then you will see the mountain moved,” they replied. They started praying and the evil spirit left the man. They commanded him in the name of Jesus to release the person and the person was set free. “Have you seen the mountain moved?” they asked him. “Yes!” he replied loudly and joyfully. That was his deliverance. The Bible tells us that mountains can be moved by true faith. The mountain in Mark 11:23 represents challenges in life and ministry that hinder the Gospel. Christ’s disciples must have true faith in God to move such a mountain. I remember how God responded to a mountain in Zech. 4:7 — “Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain.” What is the mountain today that deteriorates our lives and ministries? Let us have faith in the Lord, and the mountain will be moved.
