An African proverb says an unpopular person cannot lead a song in the town square because no one will dance to his drumbeats. This was the experience of Jesus among the Gadarenes, who rejected Him and sent Him away because He healed a mad man (Mark 5:17). However, God prepared a great crowd that welcomed Him on the other side of the lake. Sometimes, God orchestrates your rejection in an organization or a church assembly because He is preparing a much more extensive service opportunity for you on the other side. You need to step out in faith to be able to realize God’s fullness for your life. Remember, it was on the other side that Jesus raised Jairus’ daughter and healed the woman with the issue of blood! If you’re enduring rejection, take heart — Jesus was rejected, too.

Since Haggai, I have been intentional about raising up the next generation of leaders in the Church of Christ in Nigeria, which made me more involved in University Campus Fellowship.
