A common infrastructural hazard in Uganda is the collapsing of buildings because of poor quality land and workmanship. The high cost of acquiring urban land and the ever-increasing Ugandan population limits the capacity of building developers to invest in quality land, building materials, and technical personnel. This has resulted in a good number of buildings springing up in swampy, feeble land — a disaster in waiting for the respective inhabitants. In Matt. 7:24, Jesus endears us to “‚Ķ build on the rock,” and to do this we must be willing to not only hear His words, but act upon them as well. It’s not enough to theoretically know what it takes to build a strong and secure structure without taking pains to practically follow the laid-out guidance for constructing it. Those who will take time to know God’s Word and act upon it will be wise and enjoy safety and security in this life. They will not be shaken or moved when they encounter the varied storms and tempests of life.

Habakkuk 2:14 states, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” Haggai reminded me our role is to spread the knowledge of God for the glory of God!
