We are humans, not islands. Everyone wants to be recognized and loved by people — that’s human nature — but that doesn’t happen in our lives all the time. Even Jesus was rejected and despised. Even if we are surrounded and loved, other people’s approval will not satisfy our innermost longing. Even if we achieve all our goals and receive recognition from others, a sense of emptiness prevails in all souls. Our soul desires the approval of our Maker and the love of our heavenly Father. Only He can fill that vacuum in our hearts and souls. We are His children, created in His image, so actual joy and fulfillment happens only when we are approved by Him. Jesus knew and embraced this, and we can, too.
