This is the Heavenly Father’s voice proclaiming Jesus as His Son, His beloved, and with whom He is well pleased. It is immediately uttered after Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist. What an awesome proclamation by our Father God. The same verse speaks strongly to me about how Father God is announcing to every human being that we are His creations, we are His children, and we are so loved by Father God. He is yearning for us to know that, too! I remember well how I first encountered God in 2010. I was then a devout Buddhist, and I always declined any form of invitation by Christian friends to church or any event organized by a Christian organization. One night, I made a silly mistake by driving the car forward instead of reversing and hit my neighbor’s car. My neighbor, instead of being furious and reprimanding me for the damage, kindly said, “It is fine, so long as you’re not injured. But one thing I need you to do, come to the Sunday service with my family this weekend.” I could not decline. In that Sunday service, I was overwhelmed by the visitation of the Holy Spirit. I was never the same again. The Father is drawing all His children to Him.
