For more than a year now, I have grown organic vegetables in our province. I moved away from city life to a place where I believed I would find rest for my soul. At first, I did not know how I would be able to share the Gospel here. But every day, I met about 10 farmers who were rough around the edges — smokers, alcoholics, and some living with women who were not their wives. Before my husband joined me a few months ago, they bullied me almost all the time. I planted vegetables and formulated organic fertilizers and pesticides. I started from scratch, and my formulas were proven 80%-95% effective. I intended to teach organic farming to them, so they could eat chemical-free vegetables and save money using their own fertilizers and pesticides. Although I received a lot of criticism at first, I continued with patience, hoping that someday, it would make a difference in their lives. I tried to share the Gospel, but I was many times rejected and mocked. Despite our differences, we slowly became friends and companions. The Lord is leading us now to impact these farmers with our different lifestyle as Christians. In God’s perfect time, they will open their hearts to listen to God. I pray that they, too, will inherit the Kingdom prepared for us by our loving God.
