The Indonesian Bible Institute titles Ps. 91 “The Protection of God,” and indeed, the contents of this entire chapter are suited for that title. A very good reflection at the beginning of this chapter invites us to sit in the presence of God and enjoy the power of God’s protection in this life. I remember when I was a teenager, I had a lot of friends, and I spent a lot of time with them. I wasn’t discerning in my choice of friends. At that time, having friends was all about having fun, so without realizing it, when my friends invited me to commit a sin, I followed them for fear of losing them. After I experienced God and sat a lot in God’s presence, I realized nothing can replace the pleasure of sitting in God’s presence.
