All of us have treasures we cherish. We do everything we can to obtain them and keep them safe. Some people’s treasures are money, certificates, children, parents, friends, positions, cars, or investments. What you treasure determines your value system and the price you are willing to pay in order to have or keep what you love. Your possession or lack of that treasure determines your joy, fulfillment, and sense of accomplishment. Although these earthly treasures are good gifts from God, they decay and lose their value. You will leave them behind when you die. Conversely, Heaven can be your treasure; then your thoughts, passions, and pursuits will focus on getting there at all costs. You will be willing to obey God through all circumstances. You will give your time, treasure, and talent to advance God’s Kingdom. Beloved, where is your treasure?
