The time now was Sunday eve. The disciples were gathered, perhaps in the attic, where they had met three nights before. The doors were locked out of fear of the Jews. Suddenly, they saw Jesus standing in the middle of the room, and they heard His voice saying to them: “Peace be with you.” It was obvious that the Lord entered the room without opening the doors. It happened miraculously. It is necessary to keep in mind that the body of His resurrection was a real body of flesh and bones; however, He was able to break through the barriers in a way different from the natural laws. As for the phrase “peace be with you,” it has now acquired a new meaning after Christ made peace by the blood of His cross. Those who are justified by faith enjoy peace with God.
