Recently, a colleague of mine was locked in her office with her daughter because she could not open the door from the inside. We tried everything possible, but had no success. Eventually, someone had to climb into her office to help her. It turned out that the rim lock had been locked, preventing the door from opening. The person who entered her office saw that the knob had been locked. He unlocked the knob, and the door opened. When asked about the knob, she said she had been turning the knob the wrong way. She did not have the presence of mind to do the right thing. In the same way, we are trapped in a life of sin by the choices we make. When we indulge in sin, it’s like opening the door to sin, which in turn locks us in and then we can’t get out. Sin becomes our master, blinding us from seeing the way out, so it keeps us in perpetual slavery. Like my colleague, we also cannot find our way out except we invite Jesus into our lives. He then shows us the way out and sets us free. In John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”

My Haggai Leader Experience has zoned in on the issue of being confident in God’s love for me, living a life of purpose and integrity, and always appealing for a verdict. Before my equipping, I was very timid and did not like to preach, but now I don’t shy away from preaching engagements. I am becoming bolder and more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
