Who hasn’t experienced that horrible feeling when something fearful is approaching? Fortunately for Christians, just one call of our Father’s voice will surely expel every bit of anxiety and will surround us with that peaceful atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Mary was in a difficult situation. She lost her Master, her Savior, her friend, and her source of safety in a very humiliating way. Poor Mary was knocked down by great grief and sorrow. The Master came and called her by name, but she didn’t recognize Him at first. Her eyes missed the wonderful vision, but her ears didn’t miss His familiar voice. No matter what your external and internal difficulties are, He calls you by name. Mary recognized her Savior’s voice at that horrible hour because she learned it in times of peace and abundance. Are our ears trained to discern His voice in times of peace and abundance, so we could distinguish His comforting voice in times of difficulties?
