Today’s Scripture pictures Creator God stooping down to our human level and doing a job that even an ordinary man would hesitate to do. Until last year, I was pastoring a church in a Middle Eastern country. It was difficult to balance the different expectations of people in the church at various levels. This verse was my model. Though I didn’t wash anyone’s feet physically, I was metaphorically washing the feet of all the people who stepped in! Without an expectation or an agenda, it became my routine in life to serve each person. Amazingly, the Lord started working in the lives of His people. Slowly, the barriers began falling away one by one — from the elders to the ordinary believers of the church! Everyone started taking responsibility and getting involved. Within five years, the congregation had grown to five times its original size. Glory be to God!

The Lord enabled us, as a family, to spread Haggai’s ministry across Saudi Arabia in the past 13 years. We started with two-day seminars. And five alumni associations formed. Glory be to God!
