On my first week attending kindergarten, my father would drop me off and hide around the corner, where I couldn’t see him. I cried as loudly as possible, and immediately, he would come back, pick me up, and take me back home. This ritual went on for several days, until the headmaster told him, “Sir, you can’t keep doing this. Please drop her off and leave.” In Is. 59, the prophet reminded Israel: “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or His ear dull, that it cannot hear.” Just as it was true then, it is still true for us, as His children. Amidst difficult situations, it may seem as if God is not listening to our cry. But just as my earthly father was ready a to “rescue me” when I cried, my Heavenly Father, “The Redeemer,” will come and rescue.
