Jesus was talking to His disciples about divorce and the dangers of riches, as well as what one can do to inherit eternal life. One rich man comes running to Him and asks how he can inherit eternal life. Jesus tells him about the 10 commandments. The man says he has kept them since he was a youth. Jesus goes further and tells him to go his way, sell all he has, and give to the poor. The rich man goes away sorrowful, because he has great possessions. Jesus then turns to His disciples and tells them how hard it is for those who have riches to inherit the Kingdom of God. This surprises the disciples, and they wonder who can possibly be saved. He replies with today’s verse. As Christians, we are encouraged not to focus on the things of this world, but on the things above. When we wholly trust in God, we receive all we need in this life, as well as eternal life.

The Haggai Leader Experience has taught me to reach out to people in need. I do not have much money to support people financially, but I use whatever I have to serve others.
