In our walk with Christ, as we seek the Kingdom of God daily, one of the areas we are prompted to sort out is our love for our possessions. We are called to a life of selflessness, a life of sacrificial sharing. Jesus confronted the man in the passage with love, and His coming to Earth demonstrated His sacrificial giving. This call is contrary to the way of the world. We are raised to make a living and find security from the moment we are born. We work so hard to create wealth so we can be secure and have things under control, to have a beautiful home, beautiful family, and a beautiful life. This is all good, but we should not forget: We are in the world, not of the world. We should be conscious of our security in Heaven. We live in a time when there is so much poverty all around us because of global issues like climate change, wars, and pandemics. The causes of poverty are analyzed in complex ways, and complex strategies are developed to combat them. But the Gospel remains simple. It starts with us as individuals freely sharing our possessions with others. May we be conscious of the poor and share what we have been entrusted with — we are blessed to bless others.

Stewardship is one of the lessons that has influenced me from my Haggai Leader Experience. I became more conscious of the need and set goals to support families in the mission field to end Gospel poverty.
