This passage in Mark exposes the way humans prioritize idols like money and security, when God asks us to be willing to give up everything to follow Him. Several years of the pandemic have brought the world economy down. Many have financial problems, and many have post-COVID health problems that require them to spend money on healthcare. The Russia-Ukraine War led to inflation and many deaths of innocent people. I am working for a mission hospital, which has become bankrupt. I have not been paid since 2020, but I am still working and carrying out my duties. In this economic crisis, the Good Master is Jesus Christ, who has provided for us. During this uncertain economic time, are we confident in God’s provision? Are we still willing to follow Him if we must sacrifice for His Kingdom?
