In the first week of April 2022, we lost a very dear and anointed minister of music in Nigeria. The cause of death was domestic violence. Sadly, the victim and her guilty husband were well-known members of a megachurch. This is a case of a house filled with strife and division, which eventually led to the destruction of one of its members. Jesus spoke concerning the Church, His body, in this Scripture. Yet, like the fracture in that family that led to death, we still find factions and divisions in several places where the Church ought to thrive. It’s no wonder, then, that our Gospel presentations lack power and penetrate less in many places. Psalm 133 tells us, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” If this Gospel is to have an effect in our communities – if we must eradicate Gospel poverty, then we must be intentional in putting away strife, factions, and divisions.
