For about a decade, Nigeria has been experiencing such intense security challenges that schools have been shut down because of abductions, and many lives have been lost. Life has come to a near standstill in the areas ravaged by banditry and kidnappings, and the economy has been grossly and negatively affected. The Nigerian military and other security agencies have received massive funding in the face of this challenge and yet are severely overwhelmed coping with curtailing this instability, which has consequently caused food insecurity. It appears no place within Nigeria is safe. For nations as well as individuals, some paths lead to condemnation, death, and decline, while others lead to peace and stability. There is only one path that leads to righteousness, salvation, and eternal life: following Jesus Christ. On this path, we find His presence, which offers refuge for nations like Nigeria and for individuals who trust and abandon themselves into His unfailing hands.
